Livery Fees

If your mare requires any specialist care we will do our utmost to accommodate you. Please contact us to discuss your specific needs.

Terms and Conditions of Acceptance for Visiting Mares

1. A negative CEM swab certificate must accompany the mare to stud. No mare will be covered naturally without a swab
2. All mares and foals are wormed monthly and the owner will be charged accordingly.
3. All mares are to arrive with their hind shoes removed, the farrier will be called when necessary and the owner charged accordingly. No mare will be covered naturally with back shoes on
4. All mares must arrive with their Passports
5. All mares must arrive with a suitable headcollar that they can be turned out in.
6. Veterinary assistance will be called in when necessary and all vets bills will be charged directly to the owner.
7. To retain any discount given all NFNF October 1st clients are required to pay their keep, worming, farrier, groom and foaling charges before mares and/or foals are removed from the stud. Payment of the stud fee or a negative pregnancy certificate issued by a veterinary surgeon if the mare is not in foal, must be lodged with the stud by October 1st 2012, or the discount will no longer apply. Any deposits are non refundable.
8. Visiting mares and/or foals may not be removed from the stud until all accounts have been paid.
9. Every care will be taken whilst your mare is in our charge but no responsibility will be taken for accident, theft, injury or disease howsoever caused. Louella Stud accepts no liability for any claim, damage cost, loss or expense of any kind howsoever incurred.
10. VAT at the current rate will be charged on stud fees, livery and foaling fee’s.
11. In respect of stallions, if the chosen stallion is no longer available to cover your mare an alternative stallion will be offered.
12. Louella Stud reserve the right to refuse to accept or ask to leave the premises any mare that is deemed to be a danger or threat to our staff or other horses or unsuitable for breeding.

CEM Swabs

A negative CEM swab certificate must accompany the mare to stud. No mare can be covered naturally without a clear CEM swab.

Worming

All mares and foals are wormed monthly and the owner will be charged accordingly.

Farrier

All mares are to arrive with their hind shoes removed and will not be covered until the hind shoes have been removed. The farrier will be called when necessary and the owner charged accordingly.

Other Requirements

All mares must arrive with their passport and a head collar that they can be turned out in.
Any rugs or other equipment arriving with the mare should be clearly labelled.

Veterinary assistance

Veterinary assistance will be called in when necessary and all vets bills will be charged directly to the owner.

Stud and Livery Fees

VAT will be charged on stud fees, keep and foaling at the current rate..

In respect of stallions that are promoted with a free return, if the chosen stallion is no longer available, an alternative horse will be offered.

Veterinary Fertility Work 2012

A fixed fee contract of £210 + VAT for the fertility work is available from Chine House Veterinary Group, this will include all routine work and drugs with regards to achieving a healthy pregnancy. 

This is includes
• Endometrial swabs and smears
• Pre breeding examinations for ideal mating times
• Detection and treatment of endometritis
• Caslick operations and Uterine washouts and flushes
• Scanning ovaries, uterus and pregnancy detection
• Prostaglandin, Oxytocin, Chorulon and uterine antibioitic washouts and saline flushes are all included

This contract will not include
CEM swabs, EVA or Coggins testing, regumate, foaling, blood sampling, foal ID’s and treatment of any disease of illness not associated with breeding. (These will incur an extra charge.)

All clients not taking advantage of this fixed fee service will be charged for treatment given on a pro rata basis
