Services

Louella Stud sits in 130 acres of prime, well managed pasture. Our ‘American Barn' style building houses 57 indoor stables, 2 indoor schools, a horse-walker and 2 wash boxes. We also have an outdoor menage, a veterinary box fitted with stocks and small turn out paddocks.

We are well equipped, with our top class facilities and experienced, caring staff, and we offer a number of extra services to our customers, which include:

Foal and Yearling sales preparation
With years of experience building up and maintaining condition on young stallions, we are experts at getting youngsters into top condition. Our horse walker and daily in-hand walking ensures they are also fit. Our showing background means they are turned out to the highest standard.

Weaning and handling of youngsters
We have ample space to accommodate weanlings and young horses which need some handling. As weaning is usually done in the Autumn, we have lots of time to spend with them.
Rest and recuperation
We have great facilities for injured horses, including large airy boxes for horses needing complete box-rest. Our horse-walker and small sand schools are ideal for horses which are coming back to exercise.
Breaking in
We take horses in for breaking, using a kind sympathetic approach.

Long term and Permanent boarding
We have enough good pasture to offer all year round livery, either stabled at night or at grass. Mares are supplemented with haylage in the Winter months. We promise to treat your mare like she is our own.
Foaling
Foaling alarms, CCTV and, most importantly, dedicated and conscientious staff ensure that your mare and foal are in good hands when they come to Louella to foal.
