Sire: Primitive Rising
His sire is the illustrious Primitive Rising, who has proved himself time and time again in the event field
and National Hunt racing.
National Hunt sire of winners of over 70 races including a 1st & 2nd at the Cheltenham Festival 2002,
Primitive Rising was a leading National Hunt sire with offspring such as Moor Lane,
Paperising, Suprising and Cheltenham festival winner Go Informal.
He was also a prolific sire of eventers, winning 8 British Horse Foundation Awards and siring the winner of the
Burghley Young Event Horse on 5 occasions. His advanced horses include Primitive Control
(6th Badminton, 7th Burghley, competed for GB at the 2002 European championships), Primitive Streak
(8th Bramham and Necarne), Jurassic Rising (3rd & 4th Bramham, 1st Blenheim, 5th Le Lion d'angers)
and Limestone Rise (5th Chatsworth). He is also the sire of Port Patrick who was
bred by Louella; a multiple hunter champion including top UK bred 4 yr old at the Royal Show 2005.
Dam: Orchid Star
His dam is the registered Irish Draught mare Orchid Star, she is in our view, the best of this breed we
have ever come across and all her foals are out of the top drawer. She was by the lovely Gort Boy, sire
of many show winners. Orchid Star was lightly shown as a broodmare; her wins included The Royal Show and
Market Bosworth. She sadly died at the age of 9 in 2000 but she gave us 6 fantastic foals.
Her progeny include:
Orchids Twice As Nice by Lord David S
In hand champion who has gone on to be a successful Heavyweight Show Hunter and Working Hunter.
Primitive Posy by Primitive Rising, full sister to Primitive Star
SHB head stud book Hunter Broodmare who made her showing debut in 2006. She went to 2 shows and was 1st
& res ch Derby County and 2nd The Royal Show.
Bernadette (deceased) by Torspark Benedict
County show winner Heavyweight broodmare owned by Jo Jenkins. Bernadette is the dam of the very successful
ridden hunter Field Day, by Criminal Law.
Orchid Law (deceased) by Criminal Law
Winner of many in hand hunter shows including 1st Great Yorkshire, 1st and Champion Clevland show, 1st Cumberland
County, 1st Otley, 1st Hambleton. 1st Malton Show, 1st Ryedale Show. |
